Looks like the sequel to Transformers War for Cybertron starts to hype up. A teaser trailer for Transformers Fall of Cybertron had been released yesterday. As the name implies, the teaser trailer just tease us with a new Autobot and its alternate mode, a T-Rex! Yes, this Autobot take the alternate form a T-Rex which fans would immediately can guess that he is indeed the infamous Grimlock from the 80's cartoon. This indicates the presence of Dinobots in the game but one still hardly guess whether they are playable in the game or not. The trailer just shows him walking with a blade and then transform into that Earth prehistoric animal form.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron Revealed

This is something that I've been waiting for. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has been finally revealed. Made by the same studio High Moon Studio, it is the sequel to the last year game, Transformers: War for Cybertron. I really enjoyed the first game and have been anticipating its sequel. The reveal is by Game Informer magazine which will feature 12 pages of exclusive details on High Moon's new project, including extensive story and gameplay explanations, concept art, and dozens of screenshots in the magazine's November issue.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron continues the story of the Autobots and the Decepticons and their bitter civil war, but changes and improves upon so many of the fundamental ideas that the developer considers the game a natural successor rather than a true sequel.

This new ad for Playstation 3 is really cool. It promotes the console itself which now retails for about $249. What makes it amazing to watch is it features famous video game characters from the games that run on PS3.

Titled 'Long Live Play', it includes Snake from Metal Gear Solid series, Kratos from God of War series, Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed series, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIV, Ghost from Modern Warfare 2 and other characters from the games Dead Space, inFamous, Bioshock, etc.

Crysis Launches on Xbox 360 & PS3

Crytek and EA have officially launched the original PC hit Crysis for both Xbox 360 and PS3. It is now available via the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network for about $23.12 or 1600 Microsoft Points.

"We're really excited to bring the legendary Crysis to gamers who weren't able to experience it the first time around," said Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek. "The CryENGINE 3 has allowed us to remaster the single-player campaign and make significant advancements to the gameplay. We've added a new lighting system, some advanced rendering techniques and most importantly, we've optimized the Nanosuit controls to utilize its full potential on a gamepad. We really hope that gamers will enjoy playing the game as much as we've enjoyed developing it."

In 2007, Crysis made a huge impact on the gaming industry with its next-generation technology, jaw-dropping visuals and ground-breaking gameplay.The multi-awards winning game has set a new benchmark for PC games for years. Back then, people who are going to buy a new PC would ask, "Can it run Crysis?" as the hardware requirements for the game is very steep. Today, it is no longer a luxury as it is now available in consoles (though it would never surpass the quality of the PC version).

Steve Jobs: Ex-Apple CEO Dies

This is quite surprising to some. But this is something that others have expected. Ex-Apple CEO, Steve Jobs has died. The mastermind behind Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes was 56 when he died. Neither Jobs' family nor Apple revealed where Jobs died or from what cause, though in recent years he had fought a form of pancreatic cancer and had a liver transplant.

The homepage of Apple's website switched to a full-page image of Jobs with the text, "Steve Jobs 1955-2011." Clicking on the image revealed additional text, credited in a separate memo to Apple employees to current Apple CEO Tim Cook.

"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being," the text read. "Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."

I have never been a fan of Apple as I never bought any of Apple products. However, Steve Jobs inventions made healthy competitions in the technology industry which led to product innovations that we bought today. Thank you, Steve Jobs.

Apple iPhone 4S Unveiled

The next iteration of Apple smartphone is finally unveiled! Dubbed the iPhone 4S, it is an incremental upgrade to iPhone 4 rather than complete overhaul of its predecessor. Still retaining the same design and dimension, the notable difference is you will now get more processing power as it sports a dual-core CPU, improved graphics processor, a better camera and speedier data network.

The Apple iPhone 4S is equipped with the A5 chipset, the same SoC (System-on-Chip) that was found in iPad 2. The SoC has a dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU and PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, which is a pretty powerful combo. The smartphone also improves on the network data speeds of its predecessor. The HSDPA speed now is 14.4 Mbps compared to iPhone 4's 7.2Mbps. The iPhone 4S also now supports both GSM and CDMA networks which make it a true world phone. In the camera department side, it now features a 8MP snapper rather than the 5MP of iPhone 4. Besides, video recording has been upgraded from 720p to 1080p (full HD).

The iPhone 4S will come in two color options - black and white. There are three storage options - 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. In the US, the phone will start to be on sale on October 14. The first wave of the new iPhone will be coming to Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and Japan, while 63 other countries will join before the end of the year.

XPERIA Ray - My First Android

Finally, I succeeded in acquiring my first smartphone! It is a Google Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS running smartphone. It is called Sony Ericsson ST18i XPERIA Ray! Wow, I almost can't believe it! Before this, I just had three regular feature phones. Wondering why I choose Ray as my first smartphone? Read on to find out.

First of all, I've been always a Sony Ericsson (SE) fan. I was the owner of two SE mobile phones (both are Walkman branded). Though they are entry level phones, I had great time with them. The first one, SE W200i is almost 4 years now (bought in 2007) and still functioning without any defect (except for the housing, just change once). The second one is SE W880i. Bought in 2009, it is nice upgrade from W200i and still functioning till now (only the housing is deteriorating). Now, it's 2011. Both are them are so aging and looks old. An upgrade can remedy that. So that explains why I Sony Ericsson branded phone.

Smartphones is the new trend for mobile phone now. Everywhere, you can see more and more people are using them. Though they are quite expensive, it looks like people don't really care about that. Furthermore, smartphones now are getting more affordable. This is possible with the introduction of Android OS. Android OS is developed to cater wide range of smartphone market. Since its interception in 2008, it grows very fast and getting more mature. About 50% of smartphones sold in the world is Android based now. That makes my second reason - Android OS.

Enough all of that, now let's talk about the Ray. The sleek and beautiful smartphone really captivates my heart since I first saw it. It is a phone built for design conscious users in mind. It's primarily designed for one-hand operations, hence explains the size of the phone. As for me, this slim phone fits perfectly on my palm. The phone screen is very crisp and clear. With its high density pixels, it can even compete with iPhone Retina display. Equipped with Mobile Bravia Engine to enhance color and contrast of pictures and videos, the screen is bright enough and can be said just a grade below Samsung Super AMOLED+ (found Galaxy S II).

XPERIA Ray's 8MP snapper is awesome too. The pictures taken from the camera looks very natural. With its Exmor R censor, one can easily take pictures of subjects in the dark. The camera is also capable to record HD videos at 720p. As for the battery, the capacity is 1500mAH which is plenty to provide enough juice for all day long usage. However, I cannot personally test the battery life yet. I bought the original set of this phone. So, I got nice goodies in the box. They are a LiveSound Hi-Fi headset, a 4GB microSD card, an in car charger, a standard USB charger and a USB data cable.

I think that's all I want to say about the phone. There's nothing much can tell you about it because I just got the phone today and I don't have the chance to fully explore it. Anyway, it is a really nice mid-range smartphone.

Sony Ericcson XPERIA Ray retails in Malaysia for MYR1279. However, I got a promotion price of just MYR1100. :D

Crysis 1 is Coming to PS3 & X360 Next Week

Yes, you heard that right. Crytek, the developer of the game series Crysis is going to release the once PC-exclusive Crysis 1 to Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Console gamers, cheer up because it's coming to you pretty soon, which is on October 4th, 2011 (next week). The award winning Crysis is remastered using the updated CryEngine 3, thus console version of the game is now made possible.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the billion-dollar-grossing movie is coming in home video formats soon. The first wave is coming very soon, which is on 30th of September. Coming in a Blu-ray/DVD Combo with a digital copy and on standard DVD, this release only features the movie alone, without any extras. For those who whant the extras, a deluxe Blu-ray and DVD release, including a Blu-ray 3D, will be coming in the following months after (most likely in November or December).

Steve Jobs Resign As Apple CEO

Wow, I don't expect for it to happen this quick. Steve Jobs has officially stepped down as the Chief Executing Officer of Apple. That position will be taken by Tim Cook, who up until now was Apple's Chief Operating Officer. However, Steve Jobs' stepping down as Apple's CEO doesn't mean he is quitting Apple. The Board of Directors has elected the Apple founder to be the company's Chairman and has also put Tim Cook on the Board as well.

Steve Jobs make it clear in a short letter to the Board:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's chief executive, I would be the first to let you know.

Unfortunately, that day has come. I hereby resign as chief executive of Apple.

I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

This is something that everyone should expect. Just a few months ago, Steve Jobs was on a medical leave for couple of weeks right before the announcement of the iPad 2 though managed to get on stage for the iPad 2 event. It just that some of us may don't expect it to happen now.

Anyway, Jobs had done very good job leading the company to success. The continuous product innovation by the company under his helm making it the most valuable publicly traded company, beating ExxonMobil earlier this month.

Art Levinson, Chairman of Genentech, on behalf of Apple's Board said that,

“Steve’s extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world’s most innovative and valuable technology company.

Transformers 3 Fifth All Time Movie

Unbelievably, Transformers Dark of the Moon is highly successful by becoming the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time worldwide! This is quite surprising despite the bad rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With it's total current gross of $1.097 billion worldwide (31.8% in the US, 68.2% elsewhere) behind Avatar, Titanic, Harry Porter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, it surpasses both of its two predecessors. It reached that position and total gross in just 55 days. It is also the second highest grossing movie of 2011. It is the highest-grossing movie ever in Malaysia, my home country ($11,8 million or MYR 35.05 million) !

The movie is the 10th movie ever to cross the $1billion threshold and the first movie in Paramount Picture's 99 year existence.

Brad Grey, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Pictures [said,] “We are grateful for the extraordinary work of Michael Bay and his film-making team, executive producer Steven Spielberg, and everyone at Paramount around the globe who played a part in helping make this latest TRANSFORMERS one of the 10 highest grossing films worldwide of all time."

It has been two months since my last post. Maybe some of you think that this blog is dead already. Yes, I've been thinking to retire this blog for some reasons. Anyway, I've changed my mind. This is partly because I realized that this blog has built up enough reputation that even me myself never expected. Therefore, I want to 'revitalize' this blog again.

So, here we are. Maybe this time it would be not just focused on Transformers anymore. I want to go back to its root: Transformers, gaming and technology. These are my main interests on the Internet. So, you should expect my upcoming posts to be focused on these things.

Lastly, I want to apologize for being 'dead' two months ago. It's time to make all of these right again!

Dark of the Moon is Here!!!

Yeah, the wait is finally over! TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON has been premiering since last night.

The US midnight showings has netted a total of $13.3 million. It's a great figure though it is lesser than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($16.6 million) but more than Transformers ($8.8 million). Tons of reviews has popped up all over the Internet but sadly most of them gave the movie only about C grade. Anyway, the audience shows otherwise. Well, I can't say much about it for now because I didn't watch the movie yet. I'm going to watch it this Saturday in 3D!

Yup, it's here! The full-length theatrical trailer of Transformers: Dark of the Moon has been officially released. After watching the trailer, I gotta say, 'Impressive!'.

The trailer reveals more on the plot of the film. It largely focus on the invasion of Earth by Decepticon forces on a full scale. It also told a bit more on conspiracies on the moon as the humans hide the events that were happened on the moon years ago from the Autobots. In the trailer, you get to see many new footage of the film and many of them are CGI scenes which look realistic and fantastic. Also worth taking note is the music score of the trailer. It's really awesome and successfully giving life to the trailer! Overall, the trailer makes the film feel so different than the previous two films.

Three New Sentinel Prime Images

Yeah, like I said before, Transformers: Dark of the Moon marketing or promotion team has started to make moves in promoting the film. Before this, we get one announcement trailer, two teaser trailers, CGI images and some image shots from the film.

Today, we got ourselves new three images of Sentinel Prime, the predecessor of Optimus Prime in the film. Click on each image to enlarge as all of them are in high resolutions. One thing to note is there are four total images, only three are new, the other one is we've seen before (though not in high resolution). Anyway, enjoy these images!

DOTM Bumblebee & Shockwave Banner

Yeah, we just see the Optimus Prime movie banner few days ago. This time, we got another two Transformers: Dark of the Moon banner from Yahoo! Movies.

The first banner features Bumblebee in the foreground and a near identical image of a devastated Chicago in the background (almost the same with Optimus banner).

Another banner features the new villain, Shockwave in the foreground and (again) the near identical image of a devastated Chicago in the background. This is the first official image of movie version Shockwave CGI image.

What I can say is looks like the movie marketing is starting to make huge moves. Plus, The Alberta Film Ratings stated that the new Transformers: Dark of the Moon full-length trailer is scheduled to hit online on April 28th at 7PN EST and in US theatres on April 29th. The board has listed the trailer of having a length of 2 minutes, 24 seconds with a rating of PG.

Oh, I missed about this interesting piece of info! It has been leaked since two weeks ago.

Hasbro released a bunch of official images from the Transformers: Dark of the Moon toys. One of them accidently revealed one of the bigger secrets that we have been anticipating. As the images below show, the red Ferrari 458 Italia is named Mirage. Unfortunately, his appearance does not look like him during his G1 days. During G1, he is a blue Formula One race car.

New DOTM Trailer is Coming Soon

A new trailer of Transformers: Dark of the Moon is coming soon. Director Michael Bay confirmed that the new trailer is coming with the movie Fast Five. Nelson, admin of Shoot for the Edit, posted a note clarifying the exact release date of the trailer, including when it will be available online. As a bonus he also provided information on the internet release of the trailer.

Fast 5 [w]ill be in theaters April 29.
The TF3 trailer will be available on Apple Trailers on 7PM (Eastern Time) on April 28th.

In the background, you can see a devasted Chicago invaded by Decepticon warships. Hmm... this image apparently want to shows us that the stakes are getting higher in this movie.

Moon Conspiracy Theory Spin in DOTM

It has been a while since my last post. Well, that's simply because there is not much interesting piece of news regarding Dark of the Moon lately. Anyway, we got one now.

After seeing the teaser trailer of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, we all know that the movie plot has something to do with the moon landing. Recently, the producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura spoke to the Associated Press about how the moon landing ties into the movie plot and add a spin to moon conspiracy theories

No, this story involves what Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were doing during those 21 minutes of radio and video silence on the Apollo 11 mission. You think they were turning over rocks and drinking Tang? Think again. Turns out the two astronauts were actually bouncing over to the dark side of the moon, investigating a crashed alien space ship that turned out to be — yes — a massive Transformer robot.

"We give you a whole new reason why the moon landing actually did happen," says Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of the Transformers movies. "Everyone was right. The conspiracy existed. It was just a different one than people thought."

"With moon conspiracies, there's a contradiction at work," says di Bonaventura. "There's a deep-seated romanticism about the moon with the poetry and romantic settings. Then you have this notion that there's this gigantic lie propagated about what may be 20th Century man's greatest single achievement."

It's been quite a while since my last post. Anyway, we got three new images of Transformers Dark of the Moon released today. Apparently, these images are screenshots of various scenes from the film.

The first one shows Lennox and his NEST team in a fight in the film. The second image shows Shia running away from something in an office. And the last one features Shia Rosie in a scene near a bus. Rumors say that a trailer will be coming in mid-April, hence its quite make sense why these images are released.

Sentinel Prime and Optimus Prime DOTM CGI First Look

Now, we get to see the very first Sentinel Prime CGI robot mode appearance. The images are from the April issue of Empire Magazine. I gotta say, he looks cool with his big blade despite the 'old man ' appearance. We also get to see Optimus Prime with his new big gun as seen in the teaser trailer before. Other than that, Optimus appears to have additional armor on his chest and his arm is a little bit different than the previous movies. Anyway, both Sentinel and Optimus looks good together in the image.

Below are the main points mentioned in the article inside the magazine:

Does and Don'ts for TF3:
1. No sand
2. No "dorky" humor ("we wanted to make the movie much more serious, more adult)
3. When robots die, they're really going to die and we're gonna show that
4. We're not bringing people back

New TV Spot for TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON has been released. This Daytona 500 TV spot is about half identical to the Super Bowl commercial and half of new scenes.

New things in the trailer:
~ A voiceover (probably Turturro) saying "...years from now they’re gonna ask where were you when they took over the planet"
~ Starscream transforming and landing in front of Sam and Carly,
~ Sam & Carly moment
~ Bumblebee in car weapon mode
~ Optimus Prime walking as a cartridge pops out of his big gun toward the screen
~ Epps yelling "Run!"
~ The Wreckers

The thing that attract me the most is Bumblebee transforming into his car weapon mode. It's look cool. Another one is Optimus new big gun. You can see how big the catridge is (about the size of a 1.5 liter mineral water bottle).

The studio for the upcoming Transformers Dark of The Moon - The Game, High Moon Studios has recently teases us with the full body image of Shockwave. The image came from the studio's Youtube page. This CGI render would be close to the movie version of Shockwave. So, we can now have the idea how Schockwave would look in the final movie.

Sentinel Prime Confirmed for Dark of the Moon!

Yes, it's true! This actually came from the mouth of Michael Bay himself. SENTINEL PRIME is in Transformers Dark of the Moon! And guess what, he actually transform into a red Rosenbaurer Panther airline fire truck that we have seen before at he film set.

Below is one part of Michael Bay interview by MTV:

"The second one, we had a tough go," Bay told us. "It was a very, very tough thing to make a movie under those circumstances. It affected a lot of Hollywood at that time."

This time around, Bay said, "We worked extra hard" and struck upon "a better story." "It's epic and it happens in a city," he added. "It's more accessible because you recognize stuff — it's not in a desert. It's kind of like 'Black Hawk Down' with our small group of heroes in a city."

On the carpet, Bay also briefly touched on two new alien bots set to debut in "Dark of the Moon." "Sentinel Prime is great. He's great," he said. "I can't tell you anything else, other than he's great."

And about the villain Shockwave, Bay say, "He's bad," adding that compared to Megatron, "He's got a much bigger gun [and is] a little bit more vicious."

Though Bay is certain he's got a winner on his hands, the director maintained that "Dark of the Moon" will be his final "Transformers" film. "It does have an end, yes," he said. "Because I am finished doing this."

Toy images as released by Hasbro confirmed his alternate mode as the fire truck. By looking at the face of Sentinel toy, we can conclude that he is the same Transformer shown at the end of the first teaser trailer of the film.

Crysis 2 PC Graphics Interview

Crytek's founder and Chief Executive Officer Cevat Yerli was recently featured in EDGE magazine's Crysis 2 interview. In the two-page interview, Cevat talks, among other things, about the PC version of the game and its graphics.

The development budget for Crysis 2 was much higher than that of Crysis' and it was reassured that, with the power of CryEngine 3, Crytek will again push the PC graphics envelope forward. Despite the extra power, many of today's multiplatform games don't get other benefits from running them on the PC than higher framerates, resolutions and image quality settings. With that in mind, Cevat's statement that the PC version is a full-blown PC game, with all the graphical 'bells and whistles', is good news for the PC gamers out there craving for maximum-graphics.

Crytek is yet to reveal, however, what Crysis 2 looks like when the graphics settings knob is turned to 11, in other words, DirectX 11 and people have been long wondering if Crytek has shown PC screenshots at all. Cevat touched on the issue by stating that Crytek has not "made any screenshots yet that show the PC settings". So, every screenshot released so far is of the console version?

The PC hardware requirements were also discussed a bit with Cevat saying that Crysis 2 PC has been designed to take the most out of the current high-end PC hardware on the market so, what comes to graphics cards, you should be able to max out the detail settings with the NVIDIA GeForce 4/5 and the AMD Radeon 5/6 cards out there. Also, people playing Crysis 2 using a PC with hardware on par with the minimum requirements should get a much higher-quality experience compared to that of Crysis.

Anti-aliasing is a way to improve a game's image quality by smoothing out the jagged edges of pixels. According to Cevat, Crytek's solution for Crysis 2 is not edge-softening but something else.

Yeah, it's another trailer of TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON has been released. It's a 30 seconds trailer shown during the Super Bowl last week. Yes, it's almost a week since the trailer is out, but I only able to post this now due to Internet connectivity problem. Anyway, it's a interesting trailer (although quite short) because we can now know more about the film due to new footage presented in this trailer.

Things to note in this trailer:

- Decepticons have launch a full scale attack on Earth!
- Ironhide hit two Decepticons, then transform in mid-air!
- First look of Lazerbeak (one of Soundwave minion - a bird-like robot)
- Optimus Prime got a new jet pack!
- Optimus Prime doing great again (kills two Decepticons in one row!)

TF3 Shockwave First Look

Finally we got the first look of the main villain of Transformers Dark of the Moon, Shockwave!
The leaked images show the toy version of both the robot and vehicle form of Shockwave. Apparently, Shockwave transforms into a Cybertronian tank and it looks similar to Megatron tank form back in Revenge of the Fallen. I like the robot form of Shockwave, it looks cool and maintains some reference of his appearance in G1 (purple color, big gun on his arm, cyclops eye, horns). His tank mode is a little bulky though.

Crysis 2 New Trailer + Screens

A singleplayer trailer of Crysis 2 has been released. Meanwhile, new screens of the has been posted via inCrysis. The screens consist of three singleplayer, nine multiplayer and six concept art images.

In the first singleplayer screen, one new enemy can be seen that looks like an airborne drone of sorts. The second screen shows Crynet soldiers dropping down out of their VTOL under the surveillance of protagonist Alcatraz. Third has Alcatraz(?) doing fast vehicle combat against a group of Stalkers.

TF3 Megatron New Look! (Spoilers)

Surprisingly, few images of Transformers Dark of the Moon Megatron has been leaked this early. The images are the toy version of the new Megatron in that film. From those images, we finally can confirm the new alternate (vehicle) form of Megatron. Megatron now is the "Mad Max" truck that we've seen earlier on the film set.

As you can see, half of the Megatron face remains scarred (like Two-Face) due to the the battle with Optimus Prime from the end of Revenge of the Fallen. He also wears a cape to cover that scarred part of his face.

Transformers 3 Teaser Trailer Description

A description of the upcoming teaser trailer of Transformers: Dark of the Moon has been leaked via an Italian website, Bad Taste. The teaser will debut next week with the screening of The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Trader.

The focus of the trailer is on the 1969 moon landing where was found then revealed to the public.

Here is the description:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, from the teaser, plays it on the conspiracy theories related to the moon landing. The first part of the movie alternates images of the control room of NASA and of the astronauts on the moon.

The landing is what we know well, as are the famous words about the 'giant leap for mankind'. But we do not know what is the journey of the astronauts on the dark side of the moon until the control room do not tell them that '...then we are not alone.'

Then we see some Transformers: the camera comes close to the eyes of one of them, which starts to flash. But the camera does not stop, and takes up inside the robot and its mechanisms, making us understand that it's coming back into action!

GTX 580: The Right Fermi

Yup, it's NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580. This is a new graphics card released by NVIDIA for the consumer market since two days ago. Codenamed GF110, it is an improved revision of Fermi architecture.

Actually, the release of GTX 580 is quite surprising. First, it was released earlier than everybody expected. I thought that the new 500 series would be released next year. Second, it is currently the fastest single GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) in the world, leaving the 'Red team' in dust! Whoa! Cool, isn't it? It is faster than the previous GTX 480 by 15-30%.

Why I said it is the right Fermi? That is because it is the first one to feature full capabilities of Fermi architecture that NVIDIA envisioned for (GTX 480 fails to do so despite being the highest end of its series). To make that possible, NVIDIA engineers look down at the chip level and improves in terms of efficiency and power consumption. Plus, it features a new cooling solution called vapor chamber cooler to cool down the chip.

GTX 580 carries the price tag of $499 (around RM1600++) and available from all major IT stores from now.

Official Transformers 3 Website Updated

The official website for the Transformers movies has updated its look to reflect the upcoming movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon which was officially revealed via Entertainment Tonight. As you can see, the new logo uses the same font as previous movies but with a sharper looking black and silver color scheme. Plus you may notice that the font is filled with the image of the moon. Another thing to note is the title of the movie is Transformers: Dark of the Moon, not Transformers: The Dark of the Moon as we know it before.

TF3 New Teaser Poster? (Updated)

A new image suggesting possible teaser poster for Transformers: The Dark of the Moon has been posted by TFormers.com. The image was spotted in a hotel conference room and shows the head of the film's main villain, Shockwave behind the moon emblazed with the Decepticon logo.

It's quite hard to tell whether it's fake or not. From my point of view, I'd say it's fake because the level of detail of Shockwave's head is not up to the movie's standard plus it looks too organic (Transformers are made of metal!). However I do like of the poster's tagline, "Be Afraid of the Dark". It sounds cool to me.

Update: It seems that the poster is really a fake one. Michael Bay, the film director confirm this on his official forums, posting, "Total fake poster. The story logline is also a misdirect."

The successor of Windows Vista currently accounts for a usage share of 17.10%, and surpassed its predecessor in terms of audience in July 2010, one year after it was released to manufacturing.

93% of all new computers from OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) ship with Windows 7 preinstalled.

It took all of Microsoft’s OEM partners, over 18,000 just six months to embrace Windows 7 entirely.

Transformers 3 Official Plot Summary

The official plot of Transformers: The Dark of the Moon has been revealed. Via TFW2005, it comes from Amazon as the official description of a book published by Reader's Digest, “Transformers 3 Push-Pops Board Book”. Below is the description:

The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There's new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime "Transformers" character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

Shockingly, it has reference to Transformers G1 (the Shockwave part). For those who didn't know, G1 or Generation One refers to the original Transformers cartoon series aired in the 1980s.

Transformers: The Dark of the Moon will be released on 1st of July, 2011.

TF3 at Kennedy Space Center

Transformers The Dark of the Moon production is currently filming at Kennedy Space Center. So, if you read the spoiler in my previous post, it can be assumed that the spoiler is true as filming in Kennedy Space Center supports that spoiler details.

NASA Space Flight website reported that Discovery space shuttle on Launchpad may be filmed in Transformers 3.

...flashes and bangs of a different nature can be expected at the pad over the coming days, as movie crews film scenes for the Hollywood blockbuster Transformers 3, with Saturday processing information noting work to support filming should proceed as planned over this weekend.

Scenes are expected to be shot at Pad 39A on Wednesday – understood to be timed with Discovery being on show with the RSS retracted, meaning the Shuttle may gain herself some credits in the movie.

Hundreds of extras have received security clearance to be in the grounds of KSC during the filming, while Cape Canaveral sources noted Atlas and Delta resources will also be involved in some scenes. Director Michael Bay had previously filmed at KSC during the making of Armageddon – which involved scenes with Atlantis and Endeavour.

It seems that the official title of Transformers 3 has been leaked.

The title is TRANSFORMERS: THE DARK OF THE MOON.

TFW2005 first discovered the title through the listing of some upcoming movie tie-in novels, “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Secret of the Autobots“, “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Autobots Betrayed!“, and “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon: Invasion of the Decepticons”, which are set to be released on May 17, 2011 (close to the movie release date - July 1, 2011).

This title seems would be coherent to the leaked opening scene of the movie:

Crysis 2 First Multiplayer Info

First details of multiplayer mode in Crysis 2 also has been announced at Gamescom.

This is basically the description of two revealed multiplayer modes so far:

Crash Site
Crash Site is a team-based game mode where 2 sides compete for control of Ceph Drop Pods launched periodically into the map by dropships patrolling overhead. Teams score points by guarding the pods and keeping enemies at bay.

Team Instant Action
Team Instant Action is a standard game mode pitting 2 teams against each other. Kill as many opponents as possible, whilst attempting to minimize your own deaths. Use the Nanosuit to sneak up on enemies in Stealth mode, or charge in and gun them down in Armor.

TF3 New Autobot + Teaser Poster

It seems that one more new Autobot joins Transformers 3. This time the new Transformer transforms into a sporty and stylish red Rosenbaurer Panther airline fire truck. The Autobot logo on the passenger door obviously shows that it is a Transformer alternate mode. The character name for it is not yet known, but fans speculate that it is Ultra Magnus though Ultra Magnus was originally a car carrier. This makes the total number of new Autobots in Transformers 3 is 5.

Looks like there is a new more Autobot joins Transformers 3. Spotted at the shooting set in Chicago is a Jeep, which would transform into Autobot Rollbar. This Jeep is very big and painted in a striking red colour.

TF3 Shockwave & Soundwave Spotted

The new villain for Transformers 3, Decepticon Shockwave was spotted on the set along with Decepticon Soundwave. So, this confirms Shockwave casting in the movie and also the return of Soundwave but this time he will go down on earth (In Transformers Revenge of The Fallen, Soundwave is a satellitte above the earth and never goes down). They appear to be represented as head on stick and later on they will be replaced with their CGI models. The stick head is used as actor eye line and camera reference point. Crysis 2 New Story Details (Spoiler)

Crytek CEO and co-founder Cevat Yerli has revealed some new Crysis 2 story elements in G4TV's E3 2010 video interview. Crysis 2 is a reboot of the franchise with some continuity of Crysis and that the story happens three years after the events in Crysis 1. Crysis 2 will introduce a new cast and some oldtimers from Crysis will reappear, with Prophet being one of them, but, in Cevat's words, the fictions are decoupled.

In 2023, having been buried deep inside the earth, the aliens are awakening underneath New York and everywhere in the world causing worldwide martial law situations. This explains the huge alien spikes coming from below the streets and causing massive destruction, as seen in the gameplay clips and in the 3D trailer.

We will not be playing as Jake 'Nomad' Dunn from Crysis but as a soldier named Alcatraz who inherits Nanosuit 2.0 to become a supersoldier with the main objective to save New York. Some unofficial reports have stated that Alcatraz actually hijacks Nanosuit 2.0 and Crynet Systems, dominant technology provider to all the top military powers, goes after the player in an effort to retrieve the suit.

That was all that Cevat was willing to reveal at this stage.

At last, the third film of the Transformers trilogy got its working title. Being the last film of the trilogy, it entitles 'TRANSFORMERS: THE ASCENDANTS OF CYBERTRON'.

New Crysis 2 Concept Art

New concept art of this year's most anticipated FPS game, Crysis 2 have been released. The concept arts are very amazing, showing the devastated New York city invaded by aliens. Short descriptions of the concept arts are provided as well. The images are taken from Crysis Facebook page.

Alley -- This image showcases the desolate beauty of the battle-scarred city, with shafts of sunlight filtering through the crumbling ruins of familiar New York architecture. The streets are littered with signs of civil unrest. Graffiti and banners exhibit the plight of civilians still trapped inside the ravaged city. It’s one of the best examples of catastrophic beauty in Crysis 2.

Battery Park -- This key establishing shot provides an overview of a devastated Battery Park against a backdrop of the shattered Manhattan skyline. Evacuation ferries lie stranded in the bay while smoke from burning military vehicles shrouds the park in an ominous fog of war.

Canyon -- Our interpretation of an ‘urban jungle’. We broke the city into multiple levels to create layered gameplay spaces, with lakes, waterfalls and a labyrinth of subterranean caverns beneath the remnants of the New York skyline.

Central Station -- One of the last bastions of man, this historic building plays host to a crucial strategic battle against alien forces. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Real gamers must know the game series Assassin's Creed by Ubisoft. It is one of the best third person action-adventure game that I've ever played. Well, for those who doesn't know yet, the next sequel of Assassin's Creed will be out in November 11, 2010. Yes, this year. I'm quite shock wondering how they manage to make the game so quick, just one year after Assassin's Creed 2! The PC version of Assassin's Creed 2 just released two months ago (console version is six months ago) . Frankly, I just finished playing the PC version last week and I really enjoyed playing the game!

Entitled Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, it is a direct-sequel to Assassin's Creed 2 and its story will take place shortly after the ending of the previous game, with Ezio returning as the main protagonist. Ezio Auditore da Firenze, now a master assassin, continued his hunt for Templars and therefore went to Rome, the headquarters of the Templar order. Together with the other members of the Assassin order, he took out the remnants of the Italian Templars. According to Ubisoft, the game is going to offer over 15 hours of single-player gameplay set in the city of Rome with the possibility to recruit and train young Assassins that can be deployed across the city of Rome, or call upon to aid Ezio in his quests.

Also in the quests, Ezio will meet real historical characters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Niccolò Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza with which he can collaborate, and also by helping out citizens of Rome and convincing them to join the cause will unlock extra factions and missions. Old weapons and devices from previous games will carry over, such as hidden blades, and DaVinci's flying machine. New weapons will also be introduced. Two of these new weapons were revealed in teaser content for the game, a bladed fan and switch blade version of the hidden blade. A syringe is also presented in the teaser, which extrapolates on a hollowed out version of the hidden blade used for delivering poison in Assassin's Creed 2.

Multiplayer mode is now introduced to the franchise and will allow the player to choose from multiple authentic character classes, each with their own signature weapons and killing moves to battle on maps and a wide variety of multiplayer modes.

And recently, Ubisoft sent out an email detailing exactly what people will get when they Pre-Order Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. It would be an additional multiplayer character from a leaked GameStop reservation placeholder card. The character is called The Harlequin, a masked assassin shown snapping a victim's neck in the image below.

TF3 On Set Pictures (Spoilers)

Oh, I forgot to post this one as it contains spoilers for some of you. Anyway, for those who are okay with spoilers, continue to read this.

These two pictures from a Transformers 3 shooting set that show a plot point with a cross-out Autobot symbol and the phrase "Go Home". This seems to suggest that the public outing of the Transformers race and their war in the second movie is not going well for our heroes.

Next, we got two more pictures from Left Lane News that show two Chevy Sparks sporting the Twins' colors in stripes over a black body.

Sporting “Autobot” center caps on the wheels, these two vehicles were captured doing some pre-production work before principal filming starts in a few weeks. We think you are looking at Skidz (green) and Mudflap (orange).

Skidz is looking much sportier than in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, with new front and rear fascias, larger fenders, sportier wheels and a big wing. Mudflap was previously based on the Chevy Traxx concept, but for this installment, it appears both cars will be built off the Chevy Spark.

Three New Crysis 2 Screenshot

Yeah, we got new screenshots of the game Crysis 2 from the publisher, Electronic Arts.
The first screenshot shows a battle scene with the Earth-invading Aliens and Crynet troops. Second one shows the player destroying a few precious solar panels by teaching an unlucky Crynet soldier a lesson in humiliation. This is also the first time we see a version of the HUD (Head-Up Display). The third, non-gameplay, screenshot was released a while back together with Crytek's Facebook contest and it shows devastated New York city block with a lone helicopter standing on the street. We got new pictures of Transformers 3 Autobots in their vehicle forms as they are spotted by lucky fans. From the pictures, we can see Optimus Prime and Ratchet is carried on a carrier truck and two Ironhides spotted on the road. Interestingly, Ratchet got a repaint for the third film. Prevoiusly yellow in color, now he is lime green. Optimus Prime also appears to have a shorter smoke stacks.

TF3 Bumblebee Changes First Look

Now, we finally got the chance to see the changes made to Bumblebee in Transformers 3 as I mentioned before. These images are from Megan-Fox.net.

Here is some of the noticable changes made to Bumblebee:
- A Carbon fiber Splitter on top of the roof of the new Camaro.
- New Side-Windows. (They are more "Pointy" than previous versions)
- New set of Rims previously unseen in Movie 1 and 2.
- New, much more open cut to keep the brakes of the Rear Tires cool.

Some of you may already know that I've upgraded my PC to a more powerful about last two months. However, I didn't post anything about that major upgrades that I've made as I don't have the time to do so and I got another upgrade to be done. New Crysis 2 Trailer

A new trailer of the most anticipated first-person shooter this year, CRYSIS 2 has been released few days ago. Entitled "The Wall Trailer", it reveals the alien new bipedal design which is potrayed quite aggressive. It shows the beauty of devastated urban jungle, New York nicely rendered using the brand new Crytek's CryEngine 3. More importantly, a soldier wearing Nanosuit 2 (which I assume that he is Nomad from the first game) is shown throughout the trailer. The new nanosuit looks impressive in this trailer. It is also revealed that the game will be released during holiday 2010 (near the end of year). Below is the trailer:

The "Hot" Apple iPad!

Yes, Apple's brand new iPad is hot. It's really hot! Seriously, I mean it! The hot-selling iPad appears to experience some overheating issue, as reported by DailyTech.

The anticipated Apple iPad was overheating when exposed to spring sunlight. PC Magazine editor, Zach Honig Twittered that he had received an error message "iPad needs to cool down before you can use it", while playing with the device in New York City. He had to put the insubordinate unit in the fridge to cool it back down enough to resume operation (Are you serious?). Other publications, such as The Atlantic, cite numerous customers complaining of similar issues.

The iPad reportedly has an operating temperature of 32 degrees to 95 degrees F (0 to 35 degrees Celsius). When the device heats up to over 113 degrees F it reportedly shuts off to protect itself. Unfortunately, the tightly packaged electronics can't dissipate heat that well and the sun is enough to tip the scales and trigger a temporary iPad death. As for now, Apple has not yet responded on the issue of overheating.

New TF3 Decepticon Car Spotted?

Last week, we got an update from Michael Bay that one of the new Autobots will take its alternate mode as Ferrari 458 Italia in Transformers 3. This time, as reported by Realm Cast, a Dodge Charger is suspected to be a new Decepticon's alternate mode as the car has a Decpeticon logo on its hood.

I was doing my normal rounds on the lot and came across the Transformers 3 work. All the stuff that you guys had reported SuperHeroHype had was there and more! The main Transformers cars are all there including 2 that I didn’t see in the previous movies. One is a autobot that I couldn’t get close enough to take a picture of because it was being guarded so that it would not be scratched/ damaged. It was a red Ferrari. The other (which wasn’t being guarded as heavily) is a decepticon. It was a dark navy Dodge Charger. I managed to snap a couple of pics with my cell. Sorry for the poor quality.

The long awaited NVIDIA's first DirectX 11 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), codenamed Fermi (GF100) is almost here! Launched last week at the PAX East, the GeForce GTX400 series Fermi-based graphics card will be retailly available by this mid-April.

For now, there are only two models released, the GTX480 and GTX470, the latter is beless powerful. These two high-end GPUs will make you dig a large hole in your pocket. GTX480 and GTX470 based graphics card will be retailed at USD500 (+/- RM1632) and USD349 (+/- RM1141) respectively. In term of performance, the GTX 480 is claimed to be roughly 10% faster than ATI's HD 5870 while The GTX 470 is around 10% faster than the HD 5850.

TF3 New Autobot Car

We got new update for Transformers 3 from the director Michael Bay forum. The thing that attract me is about the new Autobot car, Ferrari 458 Italia.

Hey, it's been a long time since I've posted. Just been a little busy.

Transformers 3 has been going very well. We are going to shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China. On the talent front, we just locked in Frances McDormand and John Malkovich. Both amazing actors I've always wanted to work with. We also just got Ken Jeong, he is the super funny actor stuck in the trunk from “Hangover” and the Doctor from “Knocked Up.”

We start shooting pre-shoots in about one month.

I also was at a Ferrari charity event this week raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti. I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.

I also want to thank everyone on this site that donated to the Make -A-Wish charity. We raised $20,000 which I will personally be matching. This is a great charity where they make wishes come true for kids who are very ill. We have had many Kids from Make-A-Wish visit us on our Transformers sets and this time we will be posting video of their visits on Transformers 3.

Optimus, Bumblebee Updated for Transformers 3

It seems like pre-production is in full swing with more news about Transformers 3 coming out. TF3 animation supervisor Scott Benza from ILM provided an update about their pre-production plans including a design "update" to Prime and Bumblebee, working on new robots and more. Highlights:
- Bumblebee is seen has having matured over the years and so will have "subtle changes to his physique" to indicate this.
- Prime will have "more heroic" but "little tiny things" that the average person will not notice but Transfans might.
- The script isn't complete, but they have enough information to start on art and 3-D modeling which can take up to 30 weeks to complete.
- Level of detail for each character, including planned new ones, will depend on how much screen time they will have and any close-ups that might occur.

Birthday Party!

It turns out that turning into 20 is so cool. Last night, some of my coursemates organized a small birthday party for those who are born in February. There's four of them: Erni, Syed, Hazwan and me.

Actually, I don't know anything about it at first. My friend, Faried urge me to come to V3 Cafe. I wonder why I have to come but he don't tell me the truth, just saying that it's important for me to come.

Curiously, I just went there and surprisingly a small group of my coursemates held a small birthday party for four of us. Unexpectedly too, they even prepared us a birthday cake written with our names on top of it as you can see in the picture. Nice... So, we enjoyed ourselves eating and chatting to each other at the party last night. Thank you very much guys for the efforts. Definitely, it is one of the best moments in my life. :-)

Transformers 3 Update

Yeah, we got an update of the upcoming Transformers 3. While appearing on Starz' "In the House" last night, the director Michael Bay teased his plans for Transformer 3, why he decided to forego his planned year break from the franchise and confirms that the movie will be in 3D. From MTV:

"The true story is we went to Vegas to celebrate ['Revenge of the Fallen'] crossing the $400 million mark domestic. I said I'm excited to do my small little movie. They said, well we're here to talk about that. I've become friends with these guys that run Paramount and they [told me,] 'We're going to get fired if we don't have a 2011 franchise,' so I'm like you can't let these guys down."

"The economy's been so rough, it's kind of important. When you say yes to movie like this you automatically give 3000 people jobs. 1000 for the toys. 2000 for the filmmaking. I'm going to put [the small film] on hold and do it right after ['Transformers 3']."

"You can't just rehash the old," he explained. "We're adding a lot of new elements. We're adding new characters. We're adding a lot of twists."

So for now, Bay is focused on bringing us more of that Autobots vs. Decepticons conflict. When giant robots fight, Earth is the only guaranteed loser. But we audiences get to see tons of s--t explode, so it's cool. Bay's plans to keep things fresh include one simple idea: more.

Of course, it wouldn't be a chat about an upcoming effects-heavy blockbuster without some discussion of 3-D. Anyone who doesn't think "Avatar" changed the game needs to pay more attention: everyone's been talking about it, considering it, putting plans into action, Bay included.

"It's a process we're testing with some 'Transformers' scenes," he said. "How successful it is with my movie in terms of a lot of real stuff coming out of the frame, real dirt, real complicated little particles coming towards the lens, because hopefully that process will work. I've seen some tests that look great on other movies. I just want to see how it looks on my footage."

It's My 20th Birthday!

Yes, today is my 20th birthday. I'm 20 years old now, no longer a teenager. Honestly to say, even though I've grown up becoming a young adult, I still have the act of a teenage child: interests with robots(now you know why I love Transformers), love 'mecha' animes, addiction with computer video games and like to make unserious jokes (why so serious?) with my friends. Well, you may say that I'm still childish. I don't mind about that because that makes who I am and it gives a (unique, maybe?)personality to me. Maybe the environment where I grew up made me like that. Anyway, I'm 20 now and should be more serious about my life's future.

Today, during my lecture class, I got happy birthday wishes from my coursemates. They secretly make these wishes without my knowledge until a best friend of mine give me this:

By the way, after the class, I went to the chancellor complex because a close friend of mine want to buy something for me. He bought me a delicious ice-cream and fried mushroom(my favourite food!). Unexpectly, I got a free piece of cake from the seller of a food stall where my friend bought from as my friend told her that it's my birthday.

There's many gaming magazines out there that features previews of Crysis 2. So, there's a lot of information and screenshots featured in those magazines. Here's another info and screenshots, plus magazines cover (taken from inCrysis):

** SPOILER ALERT **

* 2023, three years after the event of the first game, aliens have turned huge parts of the world into a battlefield - e.g. Rio, London, Tokyo, NYC were attacked and depopulated.
* Aliens shoot probes (see the PC Gamer screenshot) into the cities and patrol the sky with spaceships.
* New York shall seem familiar but deformed to the player.
* Crysis 2 will have a much tighter and more compelling story.
* Good mix of arranged story snippets and information the player must collect himself - cutscenes, talks among the characters, tape recordings as in Bioshock and scanning corpses.
* Crysis series is meant to become a universe on its own, with its own backstory and many little details.
* Demo level: The level begins with two military helicopters chasing a bug-like alien spaceship, hitting it with a missile and causing it to crash into a skyscraper leaving a big hole inside. Demo mission objective: collect a DNA sample of the aliens at the crash site. Player fights his way through Manhattan Financial District. Destroyed city resembles New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. Player approaches the crash site, sees it swarm with enemies and jumps up the collapsed stairway of a nearby building. Player marks the positions of the soldiers, draws nearer in cloak mode, smacks the gunner of a military vehicle in power mode, rips off the mounted gun and kills the rest of the foes. Debris blocks his way to the objective, so the player jumps down an old elevator shaft into a tunnel. In the semi-flooded tunnel's water there are indeed rats and corpses floating around. The tunnel ends at the center of the crash site in a small cave. The mood changes, colors are sparse and grey, building parts are scorched up to the steel frame, music and noise gets more threatening. As the player picks up the DNA sample, hell breaks loose. The protagonist is ordered to retreat as fast as possible, tries to escape through a side corridor, but gets stuck in a dead end. Through a window he sees enemies who are searching for him being taken down by an alien appearing behind them with frightening ease. The alien is standing on two legs, has a clearly defined outward appearance, some sort of armor and weapons, dangling dreadlocks and a ferocious-looking head. When the alien grabs one of the soldiers and throws him into the window pane with great force, the presentation ends.
* Prophet might be the protagonist of Crysis 2, at least, people in New York believe the player to be Prophet.
* Still four nanosuit modes: armor, power, tactical and infiltration.
* New nanosuit mode "tactical" allows collecting of information about enemies, corpses or weapons, you can mark enemies or weapons that appear on your radar from then on, so you get to know patrol routes and remember "where that cool weapon was located".
* "Strength" mode and "speed" mode have been combined into "power" mode.
* "Infiltration" mode is the stealth mode and makes the player move quieter and more cautious.
* Infiltration is a passive mode, you can manually switch on the familiar cloak mode as an active function and only then this mode drains your energy.
* Crytek always wants to make the player aware of which mode he's in.
* Tactical mode: ambient noise is suppressed so you can overhear even the most distant conversations.
* Armor mode: you hear the hardening of nanosuit's skin, moving sounds become much heavier and the hitting noise of bullets is different.
* Power mode: player uses his fists instead of the weapon's butt.
* Crytek still experiments with different HUDs to highlight the differentiation even more.
* Developer's answer towards question about civilians: "Every catastrophe has lunatics that ignore all warnings and stay".
* Streets seem to be deserted though, except for paramilitary troops patrolling.
* When targetting the enemies, they show up as "Crynet Ops Infantry" - Nathan Camarillo says, the name is not final.
* Nevertheless there's a third faction attacking the player as well as the aliens and this time they're not North Korean.
* Nanosuit modes can be modified with extra modules which extend your abilities. It is yet unclear how the modules are integrated into the course of the game, as part of a RPG-style leveling and upgrade system or by finding them during your playthrough e.g. tactical mode shows the direction from where you are shot, power mode reflects some of the shots you take and infiltration mode shows the silhouettes of enemies through walls.
* Player should be able to choose more freely how to approach a situation.
* Camarillo: "In the first Crysis, there were three ways to play: going rambo, stealthy or causing mayhem." Now, every attack shall be a new challenge for the player.
* New vertical gameplay: when in Crysis, you could only climb a car or a small hill, but now you've got more possibilities how to act.
* Not only you, but also the enemies use the different levels of the environment, shooting you from below or above.
* Camarillo tells us, that we "can assume that we will send the player to very well-known places in New York".
* The demo level was presented again directly afterwards with a quite differing course.
* The magazine editor states in his conclusion, that even though he "only" was shown Crysis 2 on an Xbox 360, he thinks that it is going to be one of the best looking games of all time on all platforms.

Crysis 2 Latest Details!

From inCrysis, here's the latest on Crysis 2, the sequel to my all-time favourite first-person shooter PC game, Crysis, compiled to a one long handy news post, for your convenience.

In their latest investor call publisher Electronic Arts confirmed that Crysis 2 will be out this year, between October 1st and December 31st. Who knows, perhaps Crysis 2 will be released exactly 3 years after the first one; in the 16th of November.

IGN reports that EA's Chief Operating Officer John Schappert has stated that every one of EA's games released between April 2010 and March 2011 will have both downloadable content (DLC) and online play. This seems to strongly suggest that Crysis 2 will receive DLC updates.

- Compared to jungle, urban environment offers more opportunities for gameplay based on vertical differences and the player will have more freedom to choose how to progress and plan out attacks.
- Player will be able to, for example, jump between floors and buildings, and roll down along a crater wall.
- Cevat did not want to share details on Crysis 2 multiplayer... yet.
- The transition from one nanosuit ability to another will be "softened" in Crysis 2: for a short while before speed changes to power, the player will have both abilities in his possession.
- In the battle against the aliens, New York City will offer plenty of architecture that the player can destroy, protect, climb on and take advantage of.

PCGames: What's the background story of Crysis 2?

Nathan Camarillo: Crysis is set in New York, three years after Crysis. It's about surviving - the player must survive in order to save himself, New York and mankind.

PCG: Why did you choose New York as the setting?

NC: We asked ourselves: What will happen next in the story? What happens next in the Crysis saga? After Crysis' story ended with a big bang, of course there were rumours about the catastrophe; obvious that these rumours would get to the big centres of the world. So we looked at the places in the world, where the player would like to go to with the nanosuit. And of all these places, New York came out ahead for several reasons.

PCG: Which reasons were crucial?

NC: When you're asking people where they'd like to go on holiday, there's mostly New York on the top of their list. It's one of those places you'd like to have seen before you die. The history of New York is formed by more recent events than the one of other cities, for example in Europe. It's younger, it arose as America arose. And due to the progress in science and architecture, New York has become an entity on its own, with its own personality, its own life, its own character. And this on a terrain, that was just open space - before people populated it. New York is a symbol for the accomplishments of mankind in the past one hundred years. The settlers have created so much on a so small piece of land and when they had no space left, they built everything higher and bigger. New York has many advantages over other cities.

PCG: Which advantages in gameplay does New York have as a setting?

NC: Of course, the urban environment has its own imagery, concerning things you can do and objects you can interact with, e.g. how players can use cover or vehicles. You know what you can throw towards the enemy and what objects he may use as cover.

PCG: Which famous New York locations we will be seeing in Crysis 2?

NC: You can assume that we will lead the player to very well-known places in New York. We can neither tell about nor show all of them because we want to reveal them during the marketing campaign. About some we'll keep you in the dark as a surprise for the release.

PCG: Will there be different environments like ice worlds or trips into space?

NC: Crysis also didn't solely play in the jungle. There were alien environments and the frozen paradise. For Crysis 2, players can expect corners of New York that are influenced by the events durin the game. And of course there will be unique environments that we won't mention right now. There will be more than one city scenario, once at night and another time in daylight.

PCG: To what extent has the nanosuit been enhanced? Which new functions does it have?

NC: The new nanosuit is tougher, stronger; it looks as if it could actually be used. The hands look strong and brutal for melee attacks, as well as the legs. In Crysis there were different suit powers but people mostly played the game in one way; as commandos who blew everything up, as strategists, as snipers or as a cat-and-mouse game, where they hid over and over again to emerge and cause mayhem. With the new nanosuit, we want to support these ways of playing and make them better. We have a mode that enhances agility and combines the strength and speed mode from Crysis: sprint, be very fast and then jump on or over something - in Crysis you needed to change suit modes for this, just for one idea.

We have another mode, that is completely designed for infiltration and camouflage. Although we're not developing a sneaking game, we know that sometimes you'll want to get through an area unseen or set up a trap for the enemy. Or to reach higher ground without being noticed.

And then we have armor mode for all those who love to shoot and blow up stuff. Here, naturally, survival is in the focus.

Tactical mode, finally, is about collecting information. People can mark persons or positions, where a rocket launcher or a machine gun nest is, to find it quicker later. Plus, you can scan items or find out who is the leader of a group of enemies. Maybe it will help in the later course of the game, to eliminate this leader first. Some plans work, some don't.

PCG: How do you try to embed vertical gameplay?

NC: In an urban environment there are certainly more possibilities for vertical gameplay than in the jungle. In a city you can jump onto buses, onto trucks, into the first floor, into a crater - there are many different levels. Players can even jump from one building onto another, where there are interesting things to discover. The fight however must take place within certain bounds. Building roofs are very useful to plan your actions and to give you an advantage.

PCG: We have seen enemies called Crynet Ops. What is this about?

NC: We have yet do decide about a final name for these enemies. They are no US marines, they belong to a different faction; paramilitary or something similar. No North Koreans.

PCG: In the demo, the player was addressed as Prophet. Do we play as Prophet?

NC: The people think you're prophet. We didn't think of this audiofile still being in the presentation demo. This raises false expectations. We should have taken that out. You do not necessarily play as Prophet. Of course, everybody pecks at it now. *laughs*

PCG: In which way is the Crysis 2 story told?

NC:We have set a high value on the story in Crysis, but unfortunately a lot of that didn't even make it into the game. Precisely because Crysis didnt't focus on long cutscenes or the like. For example, you didn't really know why the jungle was eventually frozen. Some players wondered about this and tried to make connections. In any case, there were more thoughts put into Crysis from our side than the player ultimately noticed in the final product. In Crysis 2 we tell a deeper story - but we want the player to discover details on his own. There are many ways to obtain information in the game world, for example through scanning objects or through eavesdropping on conversations.

PCG: How long will the campaign of Crysis 2 be?

NC: We do not talk about that yet.

PCG: To what extent are the two games connected?

NC: We don't want that people need to have played Crysis to understand Crysis 2. But we will answer a lot of open questions for the players of the first game. And much information will of course be consistent in all Crysis products.
